Ideas meeting: August 2010

Hi there! So, myself, Lauren, Makki and Adam had a chat this morning about ideas for the forum. We came up with 3 pages of ideas and things we need to do - we'll post them up now. If you have any suggestions of your own, please reply.

• Add 'Forbidden Forest' and 'OOC Chat' boards
  
• Web badges for members
  
• Highest post count - end of year, get presented with prizes.
  
• Member of the week/month (?)
  
• Contests
  
• Add an inventory
  
• Add an 'ideas and suggestions' board (Done that already)
  
• Edit rules
  
• Change the passwords for the password protected boards (common rooms etc) each term
  
• Add a recommended books & FanFictions board
  
• Members of the year - I mentioned Graphic Designer of the year, RPer of the Year (this could double as the highest post count?), Mod of the year, Advertiser of the year and Overall member of the year. Lauren added Quidditch Player of the year, pesimist of the year and Optimist of the year: Adam thought these were funny.
  
• Add shop owners to the 'student jobs' list (Ryan 'Thomas' Blackthorne mentioned this to Lauren on FB Chat last night, and Lauren thought it was a good idea)
  
• Offer mentors (?)
  
• Once per term, have Prefects, Head Boy and Girl and Staff meet up in a Pass Protected board to discuss changes to the site.
  
• Add a 'what to do next' board to 'Welcome!'
  
• Student House Representatives - voted for by the members of their house
  
• Vote for the Minister for Magic
  
• Karma for each day you log in - or maybe Karma is House Points?

I still say I agree with the whole 'Karma=HP' thing and the Members of the Year stuff. I vote we use those methods.

Although I'm new, I think the Karma-HP thing is good too.

I don't think rper if the year should double as most posts, as it may make people want to spam/ one line rp to first. I think quality and regularity would be better than quantity.

Hmm, good point. Maybe we should add that to our 'rules'? The Mods would have to be on a constant lookout for spammers.

Wow, these are a lot of ideas. I think Ryan Blackthorne's suggestion is nice and I like the 'Member of the Year' things. I presume you've already added Karma-HP? It's in your general rules.

I think we should have designated trips to Woolensworth street aswell as Hogsmeade trips - just once a month maybe? That was we can check on any of our shops.

They're good ideas. Tom, I am adding Prefects Bathroom to the 'Hogwarts' category now and Lindsayers - me n Elly are sorting them out ;D

Well, that's what the 'ideas & suggestions' board is about. And besides - what good is the forum if we haven't got what our members want?
